Episode 03: Global Liberal Leadership Training at
the Friedrich Naumann Foundation
A portrait of the International Academy for Leadership
(IAF) in Gummersbach, Germany and participants from
the Philippines. A review of a successful hands-on
workshop on blogging and podcasting in the context
of Philippine politics.
The third episode of the Liberal Times
Manila podcast introduces the IAF, Friedrich
Naumann Foundation's important international forum
of liberal dialogue and training. The IAF courses
in Gummersbach Germany attract liberal leaders from
all parts of the world – among them many from
the Philippine liberal family. Joining us in this
show is IAF Director Jörg Dehnert and two Filipinos
who participated in the program recently to tell us
about their experiences.
In the second part of the show, we talk about a blogging
and podcasting workshop in Makati City in early
February 2006. Prominent Filipino bloggers Manolo
Quezon III and
Abe Olandres familiarized the group with the basics
of blogging. Under the guidance of Angelo
Racoma, an experienced producer of online audio
content, the participants
created a series of liberal podcasts in a make-shift
recording studio set up in the Foundation’s
office.
As in our previous shows, Dieter
Bachman provides the musical background.
