The Freedom Project 2012

In 2011, The
Liberal Project recognized seven initiatives that promote
freedom and empowerment. This year, the search for outstanding
programs continues under a new banner – The
Freedom Project.
Beginning 10 May 2012, The Freedom Project is accepting
nominations on programs of national and local government and civil
society organizations that allow communities to experience the
benefits of freedom. The entries should have measurable impact
on how it increases participation in democracy, or how it contributes
to good governance, protection of human rights, and advancement
of free trade or market economy. Deadline of submission is on
31 July 2012. One project will be selected by an independent jury
and another through an online vote.
“The core value of liberalism is individual freedom, and
this is what we want to communicate. This became more pronounced
as last year’s selected projects advanced personal knowledge,
skills and abilities so that one can contribute more to society,”
said Jules Maaten, Country Director of Friedrich Naumann Foundation
for Freedom (FNF) Philippines, a German liberal foundation that
is organizing The Freedom Project. The Freedom Project
is part of the FNF’s campaign It’s
All About Freedom.
