Filipinos dominate the list of participants invited to go to Germany
by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation’s International Academy
for Leadership (IAF).
The recently concluded online seminar
“No Education: No Freedom, No Opportunity” resulted
in the IAF inviting no less than eight Filipinos to the
Foundation’s Academy in Gummersbach, Germany. The eight are
professionals from the private and public education sector, from
the government, from the non profit field and from the media.
While in Germany these participants will continue discussions they
started in the online seminar. Online workshops are open to all
who are interested or who have experience in the specific themes
of each conference. Based on individual performance, IAF invites
up to 25 participants to meet in Germany for a more sophisticated
dialogue.
“Once more, I am very pleased with the Filipinos' active
contribution. We have a tradition of very impressive Philippine
participation in our international workshops,”
said the Foundation’s resident representative, Dr. Ronald
Meinardus. “This may be attributed to their thirst for knowledge,
openness to new ideas and desire for change in Philippine society
and politics.”
