300 Liberal heads of states, political parties, and think tank
from across the world are expected to attend the
Liberal International (LI) 57th Congress in Manila, Philippines
on June 16-20, 2011.
The central theme of the pre-eminent liberal event is “Human
Rights and Free Trade”, which hopes to capture
the complex interplay, in both theory and practice, between these
two core liberal principles. The Liberal
Party of the Philippines (LP), which is the first Asian full
member of LI will host the Congress, with the Council
of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD) and Friedrich Naumann
Foundation for Liberty (FNF) as co-organizers.
