Liberal Projects Empower

“Empowerment is the common theme that characterizes the liberal projects. They develop the knowledge, skills and abilities of people to control and shape their own destinies. As liberals, we always put premium on the empowerment of individuals.” This was how Lito Arlegue, member of the jury of The Liberal Project 2011 and Executive Director of the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD) described the seven winning entries at the awarding ceremonies on 06 December 2011 at the Filipinas Heritage Library, Makati City.

This message was captured in a video documentation created by StoryLine Productions headed by writer-producer Patricia Evangelista. The video encapsulates how the liberal projects make an impact on people’s lives. It shows that liberal principles, which were set as criteria for choosing the outstanding projects, can be translated into actual programs that empower and that allow people to maximize the benefits of freedom.

The Liberal Project 2011 is part of the activities for the 25th anniversary of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), a German political foundation that is celebrating its 25 years in the Philippines.
