LP: Working Tirelessly for the Benefit of People

     19 January 2017

"LP will continue to make its stand known on various national issues of the day such as our continuing opposition to the Marcos burial, our stand against extrajudicial killings and our opposition to the death penalty among other things," said new Liberal Party President Senator Kiko Pangilinan.

The party celebrated its 71st anniversary on 19 January 2017. Former President Benigno Aquino, and Vice President Leni Robredo joined the simple dinner, a reaffirmation of the party's steadfast solidarity in spite the shift "from being the ruling party to the party at the margins."

LP is set to reevaluate the party towards party strengthening. It emphasized that its members are willing to support the administration in its initiatives that are beneficial to the nation, but that they will not hesitate to express their dissent on matters that do not serve the public interest.
