Adapt to Climate Change: acCLICKmatize
Tell us how the Philippines can adapt to climate change through
your camera lenses. Capture ways on how the country can respond
to the heightened risks of disasters brought about by intense
atmospheric conditions.
acCLICKmatize
is a photography contest open to amateur and professional photographers
nationwide. At this time when the effects of natural calamities
are so severe, adaptive measures that “can deliver benefits
that are larger, with greater certainty, and much sooner”
are necessary. Your photos can raise public awareness on how we
can address the impacts of global warming. By taking part in the
contest, you can promote best practices, build adaptive capacities,
you may even save lives.
The contest runs from 17 January 2012 until
02 March 2012. The top three photos will be awarded
cash, and 10 entries will be given consolation prizes. All the
selected pictures will be on public exhibit. (See contest mechanics
here.)
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), a German
liberal foundation, is spearheading the activity as part of its
initiatives on the issue of climate change. The Office of the
Presidential Adviser for Environmental Protection and the Laguna
Lake Development Authority (LLDA) are co-organizing the event.
